THE VIRGIN WITCH (1972)

Directed by Ray Austin

Starring Anne Michelle and Vicki Michelle

Rather amusing "sexy shocker" set in swingin' 1970s London is basically one long excuse for nude scenes.

A British babe (Anne Michelle) decides she wants to get into modeling. Little does she realize that the stuck-up lady agent (Patricia Haines) who wants to hire her is a lesbian witch!

"She fancies birds!" charges the heroic male character of the film, who wants to rescue the sister of the model turned witch-in-training. The girl has joined her sister for a photo shoot at a mansion packed with witches. The cult is co-led by a Hugh Hefner-type character who gets to shag every new witch recruit.

Eventually the lesbian witch and the model get into a psychic cat fight with one another for control of the coven. Sound familiar? Same thing happened in the modern-day witch pic, "The Craft," and it isn't the only shocking similarity between these two films.

Better than a lot of the comparable "erotic" horror cranked out by Hammer at around the same time, including "Lust for a Vampire" and "Twins of Evil."

Recommended if you're a Euro-trash fan.
