Wow, this movie sucks.
John Carpenter directed—and "Superman" and that chick from "Cheers" starred. But it sucked, sucked, sucked, sucked, sucked!
Carpenter did his darndest to capture some of the magic from the black-and-white original, a flick about a British town where everyone faints one day. They wake up to discover that all the women are pregnant. They give birth to a group of hyper-intelligent, blonde-haired, blue-eyed kids who it is quickly discovered are an alien race bent on taking over the planet.
It was creepy when it was released, but Carpenter's remake lacks atmosphere, suspense and that "Twilight Zone" feel the original possessed. Reeve and Alley are miscast as a teacher and TV reporter looking into the kids.
Worse than the lowest TV movie. Avoid.
