If there's one splatter sub-genre that has consistently delivered the highest quality in horror, it has to be this one.

No need telling you all what a vampire is. With famous vamp characters like Dracula in the public domain, it's been real easy for anyone to crank out a fear flick about a blood-sucker and give viewers instant brand name awareness they can suck their teeth into.

We also all know the conventions: To kill vampires, you put a stake in their heart or chop off their heads or expose them to sunlight. Make a vampire pic, and there's no need to introduce viewers to brand new concepts.

The British Hammer Studios began mixing graphic sex in with their vampire films in the early 1970s, and the genre hasn't been the same since. Here's a list of the top 20 toothy splatter flicks of all time. Yeehaw!
