THE UNBORN (1992)

This almost outstanding horror
film combines the abortion issue with a monster fetus obviously inspired by Larry Cohen's
classic killer-baby-on-the-loose movie, "It's Alive."
Adams plays a mother with a history of miscarriages. When she goes to a special clinic that guarantees it will give her a baby, she begins to suspect that she's unknowingly joined a genetic engineering experiment.
Of course, she has. She tries to abort her baby, but the thing won't die! It starts killing people. Other moms who were in the program have similar problem. This is Randall Terry's dream movie: Aborted fetuses get revenge on abortionists.
Yep, you guessed it: This movie kicks ass. It rocks. They don't make 'em like this any more and they should. This is a truly topical, warped movie that tackles both the abortion debate and the potential perils of genetic engineering. At the same time, it's also completely twisted and disturbing. What more could a movie fan ask for!
A sequel perhaps. Unfortunately, "Unborn II" sucked pretty bad.
