SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT PART 2 (1987)

Directed by Lee Harry

Starring Eric Freeman and James Newman

Really bad dialogue and acting are a highlight of this laughable sequel which once again has a psycho Santa on the loose killing teenagers who have sex.

This time around the killer is Ricky (nice name for a psycho), the little brother of the killer from the first film. In an absolutely ridiculous moment of bad filmmaking, Ricky recounts the murder of his parents, who died at the hands of a criminal dressed up as Santa Claus—even though he was just an infant when the murders took place!

"How could you possibly remember all that?" his psychiatrist asks him. "Because ... I was there," he answers.

Wow.

A killer in his own right, Ricky is somehow placed in a room alone with the psychiatrist, and the first half hour of the sequel basically is just a flashbacks from Part 1, with Ricky somehow miraculously recounting the exploits of his older brother, including all the murders he committed dressed in a Santa costume.

He of course kills his psychiatrist, gets a Santa costume and starts murdering people. Laughable film worth catching because it's so unmercifully bad. The best horror scenes are all just lifted from the first pic.

Followed by another sequel.
