THE SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA (1973)

Directed by Alan Gibson

Starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing

The last of the Christopher Lee Dracula films is easily the worst. Lee barely shows up in the film. Most of the villain duties go to a murderous satanic cult in London that worships Dracula and sacrifices topless women. Gibson is a fairly slick director and the movie looks good and comes across as a serious romp in '70s London. What's lacking is the camp value of "Dracula A.D. 1972," the fun flick that preceded this one.

Weirdly enough, both of that film and this may have served as inspiration for "Dracula 2000," a modern-day Drac pic set in London of 2000. Cushing returned in his role as a descendant of the original Dr. Van Helsing.

For a more interesting Lee-as-Dracula movie, go get "Dracula A.D. 1972." See this if it only leaves you hungry for more, or if you're looking for some of that voluptuous Hammer babe action

But about 99 percent of should be advised to skip it.
