PINOCCHIO'S REVENGE (1996) Starring Rosalind Allen and Lewis Van Bergen Writer-director Tenney, who brought us the rather good "Witchboard" in 1995, created this fairy-tale horror story about a man who murdered his young son, burying him alongside a wooden Pinocchio puppet. When his public defender, the babetitious Allen, loses an appeal and he's executed, the puppet falls into the hands of her young daughter. The rest of the film is basically a weak replay of the modern classic "Child's Play," with the doll gaining a life of its own and killing folks. A nude scene with the babysitter fails to liven things up, but the battle between the mom and Pinocchio is pretty cool. The ending fails to resolve things. They obviously expected to make a sequel to this movie, but that never happened. |
