MY BLOODY VALENTINE (1981)

This lame Canadian slasher film is short on gore, long on bad acting.
A maniac who reverted to cannibalism following a freak mining accident, then killed some local townsfolk, has apparently broken out of a mental institution and gone on another killing spree 20 years later. It's Valentine's Day and the town is canceling its annual Valentine's dance because of the madman. In one hilarious scene, the town sheriff calls the local insane asylum to ask if the killer escaped. An asylum official on the other line rolls her eyes and says she can't remember.
Inspired by "Friday the 13th"" and "Halloween," the killer dons a costume, in this case a gas mask. The film got plenty of free publicity from Fangoria magazine when it was released. Fans were bummed out when they realized that many of the gore scenes highlighted in the magazine were excised from release cuts of the film.
Pretty weak flick.
