MAUSOLEUM (1983) Directed by Michael Dugan Starring Marjoe Gortner and Bobbie Bresee Wow. This movie sucks pretty hard. Dry ice fog effects, pathetic make-up and a few semi-worthwhile nude scenes involving star Bresee are all this weak demonic-possession flick has to offer. A wealthy young wife (Bresee) is the victim of a family curse that causes her to be possessed by a demon that has something to do with a reanimated corpse in a nearby mausoleum. She seduces the gardener, then murders him, and every now and then transforms into a fake-looking monster with green eyes, yellow teeth, claws and an evil Exorcist-style voice. The best scene in the film involves some comic relief with La Wanda Page, an alum from the "Sanford & Son" TV series who plays a maid in this film. "There's some strange shit goin' on in this house," she says. Pretty funny I guess. |
