LEPRECHAUN 2 & 3

(1994 & '95)

Directed by Rodman Flender and Brian Trenchard-Smith respectively

Starring Warwick Davis

Truly one of the worst horror franchises in the history of the world, the "Leprechaun" series is so formulaic, watered down and uninteresting that it's amazing it makes money.

Video store owners have somehow been suckered into believing the fantasy that these films have some kind of cult following, so they continue to buy each new direct-to-video entry in the series.

These two are virtually undistinguishable and feature the leering, one-liner spewing Leprechaun (Davis) up to his usual homicidal antics. In Part 2 he comes to L.A. in search of a bride. In Part 3 he goes to Vegas and terrorizes a gambler who stumbles upon his gold in a pawn shop. The little bastard also does an Elvis imitation. We all could see that coming from a million miles.

Pass on both of these. The last in the franchise was "Leprechaun 4: In Space," a slight improvement, which is saying very little.
