GRIZZLY (1976)

Directed by William Girdler

Starring Chritopher George and Andrew Prine

Another Jaws-clone, this time with a huge Grizzly Bear in a national forest instead of a shark at a public beach. A few gory attacks keep things mildly interesting and a decent cast including Richard Jaeckel and George lend some credibility to the proceedings. Not bad if you're  in the mood for a '70s "nature gets its revenge on mankind" flick. Director William Girdler would follow this project up with the very similar "Day of the Animals" (1977) which had less gore but an interesting cast including including Jaeckel, George, Leslie Nielsen and Walter Barnes (kind of like "Towering Inferno" meets "Jaws").

George would go onto to star in many a bad movie, among them the lame "Gates of Hell" and "Pieces."
