DRACULA (1979)
Starring Frank Langella and Laurence Olivier Langella and Olivier play the worst Dracula and Van Helsing respectively in the history of cinema, in this dull, overly serious film from Badham, who had struck gold with "Saturday Night Fever" two years earlier. Badham's disco influence may help explain why Langella looks like he just walked off the floor of Studio 54. His hair, face, nails, etc. are perfect. Obviously Badham wanted to make Dracula some kind of sex symbol in the spirit of Andy Gibb. Well, it didn't happen. Still widely available on video and because it had a huge budget and even some decent make-up effects, it's nevertheless a terrible Dracula movie , even worse than those incredibly inept Spanish exploitation movies that use the character. Skip.
