DON'T GO IN THE HOUSE (1980)

Directed by Joseph Ellison

This sadism flick enjoyed a brief return to the spotlight when Quentin Tarantino showed it at a film festival in Texas sometime in the 1990s. Many compare the film with William Lustig's tasteless "Maniac" because it supposedly shows the effects of child abuse on screwed up young men.

The adult child of an abusive parent in this film is a character named Donald (Grimaldi), a good psycho name I suppose. The guy's mother always forced his hands over flames when he did anything naughty. Now an adult tormented by voices in his head, he finds surrogate "mothers" to burn alive with a flame thrower. Naturally, they're all pretty women.

It's still gathering dust on some video store shelves. Tarantino or no Tarantino, this movie sucks. It's boring, depressing, suspense free and inferior to "Maniac." Skip it.
