DARK ANGEL: THE ASCENT (1994)
Starring Angela Featherstone and Constantin Draganescu A real piece of garbage. The only bright spot of this whole picture is the gorgeous "angel" of the title, played by the gorgeous Featherstone (who later turned up as a background character with a butch in "Con Air" with Nicolas Cage). She's an angel born in hell who comes to earth to check things out and kill a few wrongdoers in the process. Yes, she does take off her clothes, but it isn't enough to save this flick. I was psyched to see it originally after seeing a "making of" segment at the end of a Full Moon Pictures video (the folks who brought us "Dolls," among many other direct-to-vide horror features). Unfortunately, despite some impressive hell sequences (pretty expensive sets for a low-budget film like this), the flick's storyline is shallow and suspenseless, like something you'd see in a bad USC student film. Skip it. |
