COMPANY OF WOLVES (1984)
Starring Angela Lansbury and David Warner Interesting dream-like reworking of the "Little Red Riding Hood" fairytale has the hooded teen (Sarah Patterson) being warned by her grandma (Lansbury) about men whose eyebrows meet in the middle. Naturally, those men turn out to be werewolves. Set in a dark forest, Jordan's first movie raised some eyebrows because of its atmosphere and stellar transformation effects (the wolves are shown emerging out of the mouths of lycanthropes), but the storyline is unacceptably confusing. The film has its followers to be sure, but what they see in it remains a mystery to me. Still, it's worth catching if you're a werewolf fanatic. |
