Cigarette Burns (2005)
Directed by John Carpenter

Starring Christopher Britton Gary Hetherington Norman Reedus Udo Kier Zara Taylor

An utterly mindblowing episode from the first season of Masters of Horror, this was released essentially as a movie on DVD in the U.S. Clocking in at 60 minutes, it comes pretty close to being a full-length feature. It's undeniably the best thing John Carpenter has directed since "They Live."

Like many a Masters of Horror episode this one features a male protagonist with sins in his past who is going insane or is at least totally self destructing. It's a damn chilling episode, reminiscent of another inferior John Carpenter effort, "In the Mouth of Madness." Again, it was the best thing Carpenter had made in nearly 20 years.

Reedus plays a theater owner film collector with serious financial problems. An obsessive cinephile (Kier) hires him to seek out and obtain the ultimate missing art film: "La Fin Absolue du Monde" (French for "The Absolute End of the World"). The film reportedly led to a bloody riot at its one and only screening and was then destroyed by the filmmaker. As it turns out, the collector has already obtained one artifact from the movie: a living, breathing angel with its wings cut. As our hero goes about seeking out the movie, he runs across an apparent snuff film making ring -- or does he? Is he going insane?

These are themes that actually frequently pop up in MOH episodes: Guys going crazy. But this film also passionately explores the insane pasison of film fans and maybe gives a commentary on how sick that passion can become. All in all, the film was an excellent horror blend and demonstrated just what a kick-ass series Masters of Horror was.

A must see.

I really like this episode, but I couldn't stand the protagonist's acting.

Possibly the best of the entire series. This was a great piece of horror, and it was good to see Carpenter doing his best again.

This was without a doubt a chilling, creepy, freaky, disturbing episode of the first season. It could have stood on its own as a masterpiece movie. Very macabre. It's one of the episodes you have to see to believe. Kudos to Carpenter. Now start directing this type of sick shit again please! =)

I pay a quick visit each day some websites and sites to read articles, except this webpage offers feature based writing. KPiR http://gdtjam.com/2013/03/19/plusy-fachowego-biura-uslug-ksiegowych/
