Originally titled "Baby Blood," this dubbed French horror film was severely cut for its U.S. release, which is the version I saw.
Still, despite the fact that about 30 minutes was reportedly shaved off its running time, it still delivered one hell of a wallop. Stunningly gorgeous Emmanuelle Escourrou plays a circus performer who is raped by an alien creature one night and becomes pregnant with a fetus that talks to her, actively urging her to kill men and drink their blood.
Hence, the tagline of the movie: "It's time to feed the baby."
She has long conversations with the monster inside her. Things climax when she finally gives birth to the creature and ...
Well, one shouldn't give too much away. The film is genuinely suspenseful, sexy, surprising and bloody enough to warrant it a place in Euro-trash history as one of the better schlock films of the 1990s from that continent.
