Deadly Friend (1986)
Directed by Wes Craven

Starring Anne Twomey Kristy Swanson Matthew Laborteaux Michael Sharrett

After "A Nightmare on Elm Street," director Craven was given carte blanche to produce whatever he liked.

What he liked then, unfortunately, was an incredibly weak concept about a geek who resurrects his dead girlfriend with computer technology.

Obviously, Craven didn't have his mind together at the time.

No gore, sex, thrills, chills, suspense or anything interesting to speak of. Pass.

Craven would improve his work greatly in the future, especially with his comeback classic, "The Serpent and the Rainbow" and the incredible "Nightmare on Elm Street" follow up, "Wes Craven's New Nightmare."

This is a fun movie with a very memorable basketball scene! I have to say I disagree with this review. A must watch for fans of horror/comedy. Deadly Friend is not a scary movie at all, but a comedy with horror elements. DF is still a classic flick!
