Malek Akkad says 'Halloween' Films Head to Theaters First

November 2, 2008 A Variety article a while back reporte that future "Halloween" films -- all of them sequels to Rob Zombie's remake -- woul be part of Dimension Films' direct-to-video slate.

Not so, producer Malek Akkad has told attendees at the Halloween: 30 Years of Terror convention in Pasadena, taking place this weekend.

Akkad told attendees the films are heading to theaters. In addition, production on the new "Halloween 2" is beginning in March, but no director is confirmed. Tyler Mane is reprising his role as Michael Myers.
