November 2, 2008 'Island of the Dead,' the new zombie film from George Romero, wrapped principal photography on Halloween in Canada yesterday.

This is not apparently a sequel to "Diary of the Dead" -- just another zombie movie. According to the recently upated IMDB profile of the film, the story goes something like this: "On an island off the coast of North America, local residents simultaneously fight a zombie epidemic while hoping for a cure to return their un-dead relatives back to their human state."

The film stars Alan Van SPrang, Joris Jarsky, Athena Karkanis, Kenneth Welsh, Devon Bostick and Kathleen Munroe. Look for it in 2009.
