John Carpenter's 'The Thing' to Be Prequelized?    Share

September 13, 2008 Rumors of a remake or sequel to John Carpenter's uber-classic "The Thing" have been discussed for nearly a decade now. But Strike Entertainment has now confirmed that it is working on a prequel to the film.

Partner Marc Abraham told Latino Review: "This is more of a prequel than a sequel. ... It's goiing to be taking place in the same time frame. These are the events leading up to the 1982 film."

One can assume, the film would be focusing on events surrounding the Norwegian base which was overrun by the Thing prior to the events of Carpenter's remake.
