July 4 Horror Briefing

July 4, 2008 Some very quick news bites on "Drag Me to Hell," "Gallowwalker" and "Quarantine".

Universal Pictures announced May 29, 2009 as the release date for Sam Raimi's "Drag Me to Hell" horror movie, while Sony Screen Gems bumped up "Quarantine" (remake of "Rec") up from October 17, '08 to October 10. ... Wesley Snipes has been given permission from a judge to finish work on "Gallowwalker," his long-in-production horror actioner, so we may actually get to see this movie someday. Snipes has been sentenced to prison for tax evasion.

Meanwhile, everyone seems to be excited that the UK's Channel 4 has "painstakingly recreated the set of Stanley Kubrick horror film 'The Shining,' complete with look-a-likes of the crew and cast members including Shelley Duvall, for a TV ad to promote a More 4 season of the director's films."
