Daniel Myrick's 'Solstice' to Street January 1

December 4, 2007 A series of supernatural and frightening occurrences reveal a disturbing secret in Solstice, unearthing to DVD January 1 from Genius Products and The Weinstein Company.

From "The Blair Witch Project" director Daniel Myrick, Solstice follows a gang of recent high school graduates whose tight-knit group is shattered after one of the girls, a twin-sister, commits suicide. When an ominous overtone develops while the friends are on a fun getaway during the summer solstice, the surviving twin is certain her sister is contacting her from the grave. Featuring an ensemble all-star cast of rising talents, the film stars Elizabeth Harnois (“One Tree Hill,” “Point Pleasant”), Shawn Ashmore (X-Men trilogy), Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, “Big Love”), Hilarie Burton (One Tree Hill), Tyler Hoechlin (“7th Heaven,” Road To Perdition), Matt O’Leary (Live Free or Die Hard, Death Sentence) as well as veteran actor, Golden Globe nominee R. Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket). A brilliantly frightening film that serves up the perfect combination of suspense, screams and star power, the Solstice DVD includes an audio commentary by director/co-writer Daniel Myrick and will be available for the suggested retail price of $19.95.
