This Remake Is Sacrilege: 'The Brood' Should Not Be Redone

December 16, 2009 Hard to fathom this one, folks, but the L.A. Times is reporting it, so it must be true. Breck Eisner is no longer helming Universal's "Creature From the Black Lagoon" redo, because he's signed on to remake David Cronenberg's "The Brood."

Eisner is behind "The Crazies" remake that is hitting screens in a couple months. The new "Brood" is being written by written by Cory Goodman for financier Spyglass Entertainment.

A "Brood" redo sounds like a direct-to-video project that will wind up on the ash heap of horror movie history, like the recent "It's Alive" remake.
