Expect many more 3D horror films in the coming year, as "The Final Destination" is a certified box office hit, despite being the worst in the franchise. The movie was number one again over the long weekend.

Reports Box Office Mojo:
Falling 55 percent (comparing Friday-Sunday periods) but still leading the weekend, The Final Destination pulled in an estimated $15.4 million over the four-day weekend, lifting its total to $50.6 million in ten days. The horror sequel had a steeper drop than its predecessors as well as My Bloody Valentine 3-D from earlier this year. Nonetheless, it surpassed the final gross of Final Destination 2 and will soon top the other Final Destination movies, though it has a ways to go in terms of attendance.
Meanwhile, Rob Zombie's "Halloween II" seems to be facing a fan backlash, in addition to its own set of negative reviews.
Halloween II (2009) bled 65 percent in its second weekend, grossing an estimated $5.6 million for $27.1 million in eleven days, or less than Halloween (2007)'s four-day start. Its fall was also slightly steeper than its predecessor.
While "The Final Destination" clung to the top spot, "Halloween II" descended to number 6, below "District 9."
