Yes, the rumors are true. John Landis has sold remake rights to "An American Werewolf in London" to Dimension Films, which is planning to produce a redo. At least he didn't sell them to Platinum Dunes. Update: Variety now confirms Sean and Bryan Furst are producing. Perhaps Rob Zombie will direct?
This is one remake project that we at ESplatter hope never gets off the ground. It's a crime that John Landis even sold the rights!
Meanwhile, the Larry Cohen-produced "It's Alive" remake is not heading to theaters. It's going straight to DVD. Look for it October 6 via First Look Studios.
Here's the official synopsis:
When a young woman (Bijou Phillips) learns that she is pregnant, she leaves graduate school to set up a home with her boyfriend in the country. The fate of the happy new family takes a gruesome turn when animals and people end up brutally dead – all with a strange connection to their newborn. Could their new child be the monster responsible for the gruesome murders?
