Naomi Watts to Star in 'Funny Games'

October 17, 2006 -- Naomi Watts is set to star in a remake of "Funny Games" for Warner Bros. Tim Roth, Michael Pitt, Brady Corbet and Devon Gearhart will also star. The film is a remake of Michael Haneke's 1997 Euro horror film and is being directed by Haneke himself.

1997's 'Funny Games' Getting Remake Treatment

Sept. 17, 2006 -- Filming is set to begin in September in New York City on a remake of the European horror film "Funny Games," originally released in 1997. The $5 million movie is being produced by Tartan Films and is being directed by Michael Haneke, who made the original movie. In this verison, as in the original, a husband, wife and on are terrorized by sadists while staying at a vacation house.
