Paramount Gets a 'Fracture'

October 24, 2006 -- Variety reports that the producing duo behind "The Ring" are now set to make "Fracture." Here's excerpts from today's story:

"Paramount Vantage has snapped up worldwide rights to Alan McElroy's psychological thriller 'Fracture,' with 'The Ring' duo Mike Macari and Neal Edelstein set to produce.

"Project is out to a director.

"Story revolves around a man whose wife and children disappear into an emergency room, seemingly never to return.

"Vantage production and acquisitions topper Amy Israel said McElroy's script taps into "our collective anxiety about hospitals. ...

"Past scripting credits include 'Wrong Turn' and 'Resident Evil.'"
